Corgi Legends Series Diecast Model
Hawker Typhoon Mk.IB – Sqn. Leader Don Butch Taylor, No. 195 Squadron, RAF Ludham, Norfolk, England, June 1943
1:72 Scale. Length: 5.3". Wingspan: 7"
No. 195 Squadron was formed at Duxford on November 16, 1942, and started receiving Hawker Typhoons later in the month. In February 1943 the squadron moved to Lancashire for a period of training. However, the squadron was disbanded in February 1944. On October 1, 1944, No. 195 Squadron re-formed from “C” Flight of No. 115 Squadron at Witchford as a Lancaster squadron in Bomber Command and took part in raids over Germany for the rest of the war.
The Typhoon was a British single-seat fighter-bomber produced by Hawker Aircraft. Introduced in 1941, as the intended replacement for the Hawker Hurricane as an interceptor, the Typhoon eventually evolved into one of the most successful ground-attack aircraft of World War II.
