The Nieuport 28 was a French biplane fighter used during World War I. It was first flown in June 1917 and entered operational service in early 1918. Redesigned from the successful Nieuport 17, the 28 was lightweight and highly maneuverable, making it a worthy adversary for the latest German aircraft of the time. It had a more powerful engine, twin machine guns and a new wing structure. Approximately 300 Nieuport 28s were built.
Wings of the Great War is a series of limited edition 1/72 models of World War I aircraft. These historically accurate hand-cast resin models are crafted using the specifications of the original aircraft.
