The Delorean was perhaps most famous for its role in the Back to the Future movie trilogy. The comedy films follow the adventures of teenager Marty McFly as he is blasted into the past and future in a time machine built by Doc Brown from a DeLorean. Back to the Future was released in 1985, followed by Part II in 1989 and Part III in 1990. All three films starred Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly and Christopher Lloyd as Emmett "Doc" Brown. The time machine was a modified 1981 DeLorean DMC-12.
