1:72 Scale. Length: 5". Wingspan: 6.5"
The Kawanishi N1K2-J Shiden-Kai (Allied code name “George”) was a Japanese fighter used by the Imperial Japanese Navy during World War II. It was a land-based variant of the N1K1 Kyofu floatplane fighter that entered service in 1943. First flown on January 1, 1944, the N1K2-J was a complete re-design of the N1K1-J (the first variant of the floatplane). It was considered by both its pilots and opponents to be one of the best land-based fighters flown by the Japanese during World War II. But, due to production problems and damage caused by B-29 raids on Japanese factories, only 415 N1K2-Js were built and it was produced too late and in insufficient numbers to affect the outcome of the war. A total of 1,435 N1Ks (of all variants) were built.
