1:72 Scale. Length: 5.25”. Wingspan: 6.25”
Major Louis 'Red Dog XII' Norley was assigned to the 4th Fighter Group, 336th Fighter Squadron in July 1943. He was given the nickname because of the red Pluto cartoon figure on the side of his usual aircraft, although the cartoon did not appear on the Mustang - merely the 'Red Dog XII' lettering. Norley was one of the notable World War II fighter aces in Europe, ending the war with eleven aerial and five ground victories. This model represents the P-51D Mustang that he flew in April 1945 while assigned to the 334th Fighter Squadron.
The North American Aviation P-51 Mustang was a single-seat World War II fighter aircraft. First flown on October 26, 1940, the P-51 was designed and built in just 117 days. It flew most of its missions escorting bombers in raids over Germany, helping to ensure Allied air superiority from 1944. As well as being economical to produce, the Mustang was a fast and durable aircraft
