1:72 Scale. Length: 5.5”. Wingspan: 6.75”
Donald L. Balch was a US Marine Corps pilot during World War II. While serving with VMF-221 he was credited with five aerial victories, two at Guadalcanal in the Solomon Islands and three while assigned to the USS Bunker Hill.
The F4U Corsair was a carrier-capable fighter aircraft that saw service primarily in World War II and the Korean War. It paired a lightweight fuselage with a powerful engine and large propeller. The Corsair served in smaller air forces until the 1960s, following the longest production run of any piston-engine fighter in US history (1942–1952). Some Japanese pilots regarded the F4U Corsair as the most formidable American fighter aircraft of World War II.
Oxford presents a range of value priced, high quality, die-cast model airplanes. Every model is crafted using specifications of the original aircraft.
