The Société de transport de Montréal is a public transport agency that operates transit bus and rapid transit services in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
The Classic was a transit bus developed by General Motors. The design was originally intended solely for the Canadian market as an alternative to the unpopular Rapid Transit Series (RTS) but ultimately the Classic, manufactured from 1982 until 1997, met with success in both Canada and the United States. In 1987 GM sold the transit bus division to Motor Coach Industries (MCI) who manufactured the Classic until 1993 when it was sold to NovaBus. GM, MCI and NovaBus also built a commuter version of the Classic with all forward-facing seats and no center exit.
Iconic Replica models are crafted with meticulous attention to detail, using specifications of the original vehicle. They are fully assembled and feature accurate paint schemes. This model is made with die-cast metal and some plastic components.
