The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is the public transport agency that operates bus, subway and streetcar services in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
The C-44 was a transit bus built by ACF-Brill Company. In 1926 the American Car and Foundry Company acquired a controlling interest in the J.G Brill Co. and then merged with them in 1944 creating the ACF-Brill Motors Company. ACF-Brill produced buses until 1954. Canadian Car and Foundry (CCF), which built buses under a license from ACF-Brill, ended bus production in 1962.
