The Flxible Company introduced its New Look transit bus design in 1959 with regular production starting in 1960. It looked very similar to the GM New Look bus, with both having a large 6-piece “fishbowl” style windshield, fluted aluminum siding and forward slanted passenger windows. The 53102 was part of the third generation of Flxible New Look buses (1973-1978) and was replaced in 1978 with the "870" Advanced Design Bus. From 1960 to 1978 Flxible built 13,121 New Look transit buses.
