Select Bus Service (SBS), marked on the buses as +select, is a brand used by MTA Regional Bus Operations for bus rapid transit service in New York City.

New York City’s public transportation system has come a long way since it first began operating in Manhattan over a century ago in 1904. Fast forward to today, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority services all five boroughs with a fleet of state-of-the-art buses on more than 230 local and 70 express bus routes. MTA buses now account for more than 80 percent of the city’s mass transportation. Currently, there are over 5,700 buses in the fleet which uses a variety of power sources including diesel, natural gas, hybrid-electric and all electric. The newest buses coming into service include sharp-looking new graphics, free on-board WiFi, device charging ports and electronic information screens.
