The 1989 movie Batman was based on the legendary DC Comics character. It was directed by Tim Burton and starred Michael Keaton as Batman and Jack Nicholson as a costumed criminal known as “The Joker”. The story follows Batman as he battles this powerful new villain. In order to defeat The Joker, Batman needs a potent vehicle: the Batmobile, which features a jet turbine engine and a variety of gadgets and weapons. The Batmobile, which cost several million dollars to develop, was built on a Chevrolet Impala chassis.
