M151A2 MUTT, aka "Jeep" – “02G90768,” U.S. Army, Vietnam War
1:48 Scale. Length: 2.75"
The M151 MUTT (Military Utility Tactical Truck) was a 1/4-ton 4x4 utility truck designed by Ford Motor Company in the 1950s as a replacement for the M38 Jeep. Although it retained the same basic layout of the M38, the M151 utilized a semi-monocoque design, making it roomier than its predecessor, with an independent suspension and coil springs. It was produced from 1959 until 1982 and served with all branches of the United States military in the Vietnam War and into the 1990s with some units. The M151 has since been replaced in U.S. military service with the AM General HMMWV (Humvee) in most utility roles. Some versions of the M151 were configured to carry a recoilless rifle, TOW missiles or machine gun.
