First flown in May 1940, the F4U Corsair was a carrier-capable fighter aircraft that saw service during World War II and Korean War. It paired a lightweight fuselage with a powerful engine and a large propeller. The Corsair was operated by some nations air forces until the 1960s following the longest production run of a piston-engined fighter in U.S. history. 12,571 F4U Corsairs were manufactured by Vought, in 16 separate models.

Hobby Master is a manufacturer of high quality, pre-built, diecast models. Each model is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, using specifications of the original aircraft or vehicle. They are made with precision-tooled die-cast metal and some plastic components.
