In 1988 No. 1435 received four Phantom FGR.2s before converting to four Panavia Tornado F3s in 1992. In 2009 4 Eurofighter Typhoon FGR4s arrived at RAF Mount Pleasant to protect the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands.
