1:72 Scale.  Length: 10".  Wingspan: 8.75"

U.S. Navy VAQ-133 “Wizards” was first established in 1969 equipped with the Douglas EKA-3B Skywarrior. Originally stationed in California, the “Wizards” moved to Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Washington in 1971 and were equipped with the EA-6B Prowler. In 1992 VAQ-133 was disestablished and then reestablished in 1996. From July 2007 to January 2008 EA-6B Prowler 161120 / NL-530 was assigned to VAQ-133 based at Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan to support “Operation Enduring Freedom”. EA-6B 161120 was later sent to VAQ-131 Lancers as NE-501.

The Northrop Grumman EA-6B Prowler is a twin-engine electronic warfare aircraft derived from the A-6 Intruder airframe and used by the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps. The EA-6A was the initial version developed for the Marine Corps in the 1960s. Development on the EA-6B began in 1966 and was first flown on May 25, 1968, entering operational service in July 1971. The aircrew consists of one pilot and three electronic countermeasures officers, although it is not uncommon for two ECMOs to be used on some missions. The EA-6B can be operated from aircraft carriers and land bases.

Although the Prowler was designed as an electronic warfare and command-and-control aircraft for air strike missions; it is capable of attacking some land based targets on its own, in particular enemy radar sites and surface-to-air missile launchers, using the AGM-88 anti-radiation missile.

Following its last deployment in late 2014 on the George H. W. Bush, the EA-6B was withdrawn from U.S. Navy service in June 2015 – having been replaced by the Boeing EA-18G Growler (an electronic warfare variant of the F/A-18F Super Hornet). The USMC plans to operate the EA-6B until 2019.
