The USAF 65th Aggressor Squadron was activated in October 1975 at Nellis AFB, Nevada but disbanded in 1989 only to be reactivated in 2005 equipped with F-15 Eagle. At full strength the 65th AGRS had an inventory of 19 F-15C and F-15D Eagles. On September 26, 2014 the 65th was again subject to budget cuts and disbanded. Most of the F-15s were sent to ANG units with a few remaining at Nellis until March 2015. These few F-15s were assigned to the 64th AGRS that also fly the F-16 Fighting Falcon.
