Israeli F-15D #957 “Markia Schakim” (Sky Blazer), msn 669 / D003 from the 106th Spearhead Squadron is best known for surviving a midair collision with an A-4 on May 1, 1983. On a training sortie between two F-15s and two A-4s, F-15D #957 made a maneuver and collided with an A-4 destroying the F-15’s right wing. The A-4 pilot ejected but the F-15D managed to land. In 1982 F-15D 957 scored four victories against Syrian aircraft and scored its fifth victory against Syrian MiG-23 on November 19, 1985.
