F-15E Strike Eagle #98-0133 was manufactured as C/N 1363 / E224 and delivered to the USAF 492nd FS ‘Madhatters’ stationed at RAF Lakenheath, England as part of the 48th FW. The 48th FW, whose aircraft wear a tail code “LN”, is known as the Statue of Liberty Wing and is the only wing with a number and name. The 48th received the first of 10 F-15E’s in 2003. The 492nd FS deployed to Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.
