F-104G Starfighter D-8114, Fokker factory number 1056, was built by Fokker under license from Lockheed. It was delivered on October 2 1963 and over the years served with the 311, 312, 322 and 323 squadrons before being removed from service on June 18, 1984. With the arrival of the F-16 most of the F-104 aircraft were sent to Turkey or Greece with some being kept for air frame training, towing and displays. D-8114 was eventually saved and taken to Volkel Airbase where it is undergoing restoration.
The Lockheed F-104 Starfighter was a single-engine, supersonic interceptor aircraft that served with the US Air Force from 1958 until 1967. In the Vietnam War the Starfighter was used in the air support role. Although Starfighters saw little aerial combat and scored no air-to-air victories they were successful in deterring MiG interceptors.
Hobby Master offers a wide selection of quality, pre-assembled, diecast model airplanes. Each model is crafted to a high level of accuracy using specifications of the original aircraft. They are constructed with precision-made diecast metal and some plastic components.
