The Battlestar Galactica Blackbird was designed for stealth missions by Galactica maintenance chief Glen Tyrol. It was built from scratch and resembled a Viper. The external armor was made from a black, non-reflective, carbon-fiber composite material that masked its presence from both Cylon and Colonial radar as well as gave the vessel its name. Equipped with enhanced sensors and surveillance systems, it was a perfect intelligence-gathering instrument.

This Battlestar Galactica Blackbird captures the Viper-shape of the ship in a sleek black color and little details, such as President Laura's name painted on the fuselage.

Eaglemoss has worked closely with members of the modern Galactica VFX team to ensure that the models in this series are as detailed and accurate as possible. The accompanying magazine profiles each ship and features interviews with the show's creators including Ronald Moore. This series will feature models from both the classic and 2004 television series.
