Corgi Forward March Collection
World War II U.S. Army Infantry
Set of 6 Hand Painted Metal Figures
1:50 Scale
Limited Edition
The US Army, which stormed on to the shores and plummeted from the skies over Normandy, France in the early hours of June 6, 1944 was the most formidable fighting force ever fielded to that date.
The US Infantry was the backbone of this force and for the next eleven months it continuously engaged and defeated, the veteran German defenders. When fuel shortages stalled tanks and bad weather grounded Allied Air Forces, these well equipped foot soldiers continued to fight.
This set depicts the U.S. fighting man, or G.I., as he would have appeared during the summer of 1944 during WWII. Armed with M1 Garands and Thompson submachine guns, with a variety of field jackets, trousers and other equipment, they look every bit the U.S. infantryman.
