The Lynx is a British multi-purpose military helicopter built by Westland Helicopters. In 1991 the British Army deployed twenty-four heavily armoured Lynx helicopters and the smaller Gazelle to Iraq, giving them the mission of locating and destroying Iraqi tanks and supporting the advancing coalition ground forces. On February 26, 1991, during "Operation Desert Sabre", 654 Squadron engaged and destroyed at least seven armored vehicles of the Iraqi 12th Armored Division. The Squadron returned to their base in Detmold on March 22, 1991 without a single loss.
The Corgi Aviation Archive features a wide selection of high quality, ready-made, diecast model airplanes. Each model is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, using specifications of the original aircraft. Corgi models are built with diecast metal and some plastic components.
