1:144 Scale. Length: 8.25”. Wingspan: 11.75”
Limited Edition
The Tupelov Tu-4 was a four-engine strategic bomber operated by the Soviet Air Force. It was a reverse-engineered copy of the Boeing B-29 Superfortress. In 1944 the Soviet Union obtained three B-29s, which had made emergency landings in Soviet territory during World War II. One was dismantled, the second was used for flight tests and training, and the third one was left as a standard for cross-reference. The Tu-4 was first flown on May 19, 1947 and entered service in 1949. But, the aircraft suffered prolonged problems with some systems throughout its service life. 847 Tu-4s had been built when production ended in 1952. No. 2805103, coded "01", is the sole surviving Tu-4 and is preserved at the Central Air Force Museum in Monino, Russia.
The Corgi Aviation Archive features a wide selection of high quality, ready-made, diecast model airplanes. Each model is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, using specifications of the original aircraft. Corgi models are built with diecast metal and some plastic components.
