The C-130J is the newest version of the Hercules and the only model still produced. Externally similar to the classic Hercules, the J model is in fact a different aircraft. The differences include new Rolls-Royce Allison turboprops with six-bladed propellers, digital avionics, reduced crew requirements (two pilots - no navigator or engineer), and up to 27-percent lower operating costs

The Lockheed C-130 Hercules has served as a cargo aircraft for U.S. and other military forces around the world. Originally designed as a troop carrier and cargo aircraft, the C-130 has also been used as a gunship, for aerial refueling, aerial firefighting and more.
