Highly detailed pre-assembled 1:35 scale replica of the Jupiter 2 from the 1960s TV series Lost in Space. It features a metal hull and landing gear, fully finished lighted interior and fusion core lights with 3 speeds to simulate studio special effects. It includes a rechargeable battery and a wall transformer. Net weight approximately 19 pounds. Diecast metal with a plastic interior (the model features only the upper level of the interior).
Lost in Space is a science fiction television series created and produced by Irwin Allen. It aired on CBS for three seasons. 83 episodes aired between September 15, 1965 and March 6, 1968.
The Jupiter 2 was a fictional nuclear powered two-deck spacecraft. On the lower level were the "atomic motors" (which use "deutronium" for fuel), living quarters, galley and laboratory. On the upper level were the guidance control system and suspended animation "freezing tubes" which was needed for intersteller travel. The Jupiter 2 explicitly had artificial gravity.
