The Batmobile depicted in the 2005 film Batman Begins and the 2008 sequel The Dark Knight was modified from a heavily armed and armored military vehicle called the "Tumbler", which was developed by the fictional Wayne Enterprises. It was also seen in the 2012 film The Dark Knight Rises in a military desert camouflage paint scheme and used by Bane, the film’s villain, and his militia to takeover Gotham City. The Dark Knight film trilogy was directed by Christopher Nolan and starred Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne / Batman and Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth (Bruce Wayne's trusted butler).
