The A-Team is an action/adventure television series produced by Stephen J. Cannell that aired on NBC from 1983 to 1987. The storyline revolved around four fictional U.S. Army Vietnam vets, framed for robbing a bank during the war, who work as soldiers of fortune helping crime victims while evading the military police who are pursuing them.
The A-Team characters were John “Hannibal” Smith (George Peppard), Templeton “Face” Peck (Dirk Benedict), B.A. Baracus (Mr. T) and H.M. "Howling Mad” Murdock (Dwight Schultz).
The van used by the A-Team in the 1980s television series was a 1983 GMC Vandura. The van, with its red stripe, black and red mag wheels and rooftop spoiler, was customized by Universal Studios Prop Department. On screen the van was owned by the character B.A. Baracus.
