The Oldsmobile 442 got its name from the 4-barrel carburetor 4-speed transmission and 2-dual exhaust. Experience the mark of high performance with brute 4-4-2 force, from the dual scoop force-air induction hood to the 370 horsepower V8 engine.
This precision-engineered die-cast model of the 1970 Oldsmobile Olds 442 is hand-assembled from over 150 individual parts and packed with true-to-life details. It features opening doors and hood, an intricate model of the V-8 engine, detailed interior, opening trunk, spare tire, operable steering, turning wheels, detailed chassis and a fully functional suspension system.
The Oldsmobile 442 was a muscle car produced by the Oldsmobile division of General Motors. It was introduced as an option package for F-85 and Cutlass models sold in the United States beginning with the 1964 model year. It became a model in its own right beginning in 1968 until 1971, then reverted to an option through the mid-70s. The 442 name was revived in the 1980s on the Cutlass Supreme and early 1990s as an option for the front-wheel drive Olds Cutlass.
The Franklin Mint offers a wide range of high quality, ready-made, diecast models. Every model is crafted with meticulous attention to detail using specifications of the original vehicle. Franklin Mint models are built with precision-made diecast metal and some non-metal components.
