Detailed die-cast model of the 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454. It features an intricate replica of the LS-6 450-hp V8 engine. The interior has bucket seats with folding seat backs, carpet, and a detailed console with the 4-speed stick rising out of the floor. The trunk opens and the inside lid carries jacking instructions as well as tire inflation information. The spare tire is mounted on the floor and carries the same Super Stock wheel as the other four wheels. It includes a functioning suspension with coils on the front and leaf springs in the rear. The tires are Goodyear Polyglas GTs complete with wheel centers that sport the "SS" logo.
In 1970, sheetmetal revisions gave the Chevelle a more squared-up stance. The 1970 Chevelle came in Sport Coupe, Sport Sedan, Convertible and four-door sedan - along with a pair of Super Sport upgrades. Bigger engines became available as regular production options, resulting in the addition of an SS 454 option. The 454-cubic-inch V-8, offering 360 horsepower in standard form but a whopping 450 horsepower in high-compression, LS-6 guise. The latter made the Chevelle one of the quickest muscle cars ever built
