The Queens borough of New York was where the piano manufacturer William Steinway had his manufacturing facility, and also operated his own Streetcar system.  The Third Avenue Railway leased him 25 used Brill Birney Cars to operate this system. These cars operated on Steinway Lines from 1930-39 when they were returned to Third Avenue Railway.  Streetcars continued to operate in Queens borough until 1957 and became New York City's last street car operation.

The Birney car was an electric trolley developed in the 1910s by Charles O. Birney. The Birney was popular in small cities because they were economical for a system not needing large cars. For large cities, Birneys were used on lightly traveled lines where large cars were not justifiable

The Corgi "Vintage Bus Lines" range includes highly detailed bus, trolley and streetcar models. These fully assembled models are crafted using  the specifications of the original vehicle. They feature clear view windows with interior seating and historically accurate  paint schemes. Corgi models are constructed with precision-made diecast metal and some plastic components.
