This aircraft was flown by III./JG7 Gruppenkommandeur,
Maj. Rudolf Sinner, in the final months of the war. An Ace with 37 victories, Maj. Sinner was seriously wounded when his Me 262 was jumped by USAAF P-51 Mustangs while taking off from Rechlinon on April 4, 1945.
The Messerschmitt Me 262 was the world's first operational jet fighter aircraft. It was produced in World War II for the Luftwaffe and saw action starting in 1944 as a multi-role fighter warplane
