The F4U Corsair was a carrier-capable fighter aircraft that saw service primarily in World War II and the Korean War. It paired a lightweight fuselage with a powerful engine and large propeller. The Corsair served in smaller air forces until the 1960s, following the longest production run of any piston-engined fighter in US history (1942–1952). Some Japanese pilots regarded the F4U Corsair as the most formidable American fighter aircraft of World War II.
Corgi is a leading manufacturer of high quality, pre-built, diecast model airplanes. Each model is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, using specifications of the original aircraft. Corgi models are constructed with precision-made diecast metal and some plastic components.
The models in the Corgi Legends series feature realistic panel lines, detailed cockpit with pilot figure, historically accurate markings and fixed position landing gear with rotating wheels.
