Canada initially placed an order for four Lockheed C-130 Hercules in 1959, but soon ordered 20 C-130 E models for delivery during 1964-1965 to equip No. 435 Squadron at Namao, Edmonton, Alberta and 436 Squadron at Trenton, Ontario. The first RCAF C-130E Hercules, # 10305, was delivered to No. 436 Squadron at Trenton in December 1964. It was later transferred to No. 435 Squadron in October 1973, then to No. 429 Squadron in March 1975. In March 1986 it lost its Air Transport Command livery to camouflage, but it still continues in service today at Trenton.
The Lockheed C-130 Hercules has served as a cargo aircraft for U.S. and other military forces around the world. Originally designed as a troop carrier and cargo aircraft, the C-130 has also been used as a gunship, for aerial refueling, aerial firefighting and more.
The Corgi Aviation Archive features a wide selection of high quality, ready-made, diecast model airplanes. Each model is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, using specifications of the original aircraft. Corgi models are built with diecast metal and some plastic components.
