CPO Takeo Okumura became one of the most famous flying aces by setting a Japanese Navy Air Force record for shooting down the most enemy aircraft in a single day. On September 14, 1943 he shoot down ten aircraft over Buin, and received a commendation from Admiral Kusaka. Days later, Okumura’s “Zeke” was shot down in an intense dogfight with two P-38s over Tuluvu. This model is based on that fighter, the agile Mitsubishi A6M Zero.
